This is the website of the Indian Valley Associates, a neighborhood association to advise the County of Marin on concerns of this small, yet significant unincorporated community. We are west of the City of Novato and largely rural with ranches and farms.
We have our own Indian Valley Specific Plan, an adjunct to Marin’s Countywide Plan, and we act as stewards for the magnificent Open Space surrounding our area. We also manage our regional fire risk, road safety and design review. Our district (5) is currently under the jurisdiction of Supervisor Eric Lucan.
Among other things, this website tracks the official business of our association, so it is available to our county government officials, as well as our residents. The 2027 Neighborhood Annual Meeting will be held in September 2027 (date to be announced) at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Road, Novato. All Indian Valley residents are welcome!

IN MEMORIAM
Bob Mattos (1932-2026) will be remembered fondly for his warmth and thoughtfulness and Friday night pot -luck dinners welcoming new and old residents. Bob’s Bar, as it was commonly known, offered free wine (often homemade) and food and camaraderie among the local residents. There the regulars would welcome newcomers and share their well-honed connections as to where to shop, best veterinarians, plumbers, etc. Bob and his wife Dinah, always the gracious hosts, would be sure that everyone felt included and welcomed.
His passing leaves a fond memory of what a good soul he was. RIP Bob.
